About Us

Vision
To provide long term solutions to families in need that increase economic self-sufficiency and spiritual maturity.
Mission
We will provide educational, financial and spiritual resources in partnership with other faith based groups that empower families in need to grow in their relationship with Christ, develop skills to better their economic circumstances and acquire the interpersonal skills needed to thrive in society.
Objectives

Educational resources: Our objective is to provide learning opportunities that help our neighbors to improve their marketability in the workplace, address cognitive, emotional and spiritual barriers that keep them in a cycle of poverty and help them provide a safe and nurturing home for their families. Currently these services include basic computer training, job-readiness classes, ESL, tutoring, and life skills courses. Long-term, this will also include entrepreneurial training, literacy courses, home ownership courses, and various support groups. We will provide learning experiences for all ages.

Financial resources: Our objective is to provide financial incentives that support our educational opportunities. Long-term services include providing opportunities for our neighbors to start a business, seek home ownership, enroll in college or advanced training programs. Goals also include providing no-interest loans, matching dollars savings accounts, and home-buying assistance. We also provide other resources such as interview and work clothes.

Spiritual resources: Our objective is to provide opportunities for churches to fulfill their call to care for those in need. A relationship with Christ is vital to long term change in people’s lives.   Our biggest spiritual impact on our neighbors comes through church partnerships. We need volunteers from churches who can not only pass on their expertise, but can also be a spiritual encouragement. This will be accomplished through mentoring relationships, prayer support, and Bible studies. In addition we seek partnerships with other faith based organizations that have similar a similar goal

History of N2N

Neighbor to Neighbor was established in 2003 as a clothes closet through McKinney Fellowship Bible Church.  Since then God has grown this outreach to include ministries dedicated to the whole family.  Most recently we have launched new programs specifically targeting our Hispanic neighbors.

Why we are different
Neighbor to Neighbor goes beyond just giveaways.  We believe it is important to meet immediate needs, but we also recognize that underlying problems still exist.  It is these underlying problems that we seek to address.  This may include unemployment, lack of education/job skills, money managment, language barriers, and interpersonal skills.  We believe building relationships with our neighbors, based upon the love of Christ, will allow us to best meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
Statement of Faith
The Lord Jesus Christ, God's son, redeems us through His death and resurrection and empowers us by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is God's Word and through it we are called to live out justice, reconciliation, and redemption. The church nurtures God's people gathered in a community to carry out God's Word.
